Workers at Romania’s railway operator Compania Nationala de Cai Ferate, or CFR, started an unannounced strike today, causing train delays across the country, Mediafax reported.

About 89 trains were halted at train stations as workers demand they get some unpaid salaries, the Bucharest-based news service said, citing a statement from CFR. The strike started at 7 a.m. local time today, Mediafax said.

Realitatea TV private television station reported that the strike ended at 9 a.m. local time.
