Meat workers strike again tomorrow

Talley's AFFCO workers will strike again tomorrow, Monday 2 April.

Workers are striking in solidarity with 500 workers who will be locked out on Good Friday and Easter Monday in addition to workers already locked out.

Talley's says the new lock out if for workers who went on strike in solidarity with the 1,000 workers already locked out.

Pickets will be held from 5am tomorrow at Moerewa, Horotiu and Rangiuru and from 8am at Wairoa. Rangiuru workers will be holding a meeting at 12noon at the Rangiuru Rugby Club and Wairoa workers will hold a 10am meeting at the Wairoa resource center. Workers will picket at Feilding after a 10:30am meeting at the Feilding Civic Centre and at Whanganui after a 1pm meeting at the Durie Hill bowling club.

Pickets will not be held at Wiri and Napier plants which are both 100% union.

The dispute is in its fifth week.
