International flights from and to French Polynesia have resumed after a strike at Tahiti’s airport was settled as it was in its second day.

An agreement was reached during the night between the airport company and the three unions concerned.

The strike prevented a Los Angeles-bound Air Tahiti Nui aircraft from leaving Papeete yesterday morning, making it necessary to accommodate passengers in hotels.

The strike came shortly before the management of the airport is to be transferred to a French company.

The industrial action didn’t stop domestic flights because for them to operate there were enough firefighters on duty.
