The Australian Workers Union says there are ongoing problems at a luxury Whitsunday resort, with some staff waiting more than two weeks to be paid.

Paul Robertson says he has been aware of delays with pay at the Laguna Resort since March and he says neither the head office or resort management are taking responsibility for the problem.

He says the issue is creating a significant amount of stress for workers.

"Some of them ... trying to pay their rates, utilities, buy groceries, fuel et cetera," he said.

"Then [to] add insult to injury, the employees are incurring bank dishonour fees through no fault of their own."
