Up to June 29, 62,300 employers around the country have registered 396,936 immigrant workers. Of these, 286,542 are from Burma. In Chiang Rai alone, 20,000 immigrant workers are applying for registration. Somkiat expressed confidence that more people would come forward in the remaining days and the ministry would achieve its target of registering 1 million immigrant workers.
