The Joint Private Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking on Monday made a resolution for firms under it to allow workers sick of A/H1N1 virus to take sick leave with pay, said Federation of Thai Industries president Santi Wilassakdanont.

Mr Santi said this after a meeting of the committee, which also resolved for its members to publish a booklet to educate their employees on how to protect themselves from catching the flu.

However, Mr Santi said there have been no reports of workers of any factory or industry having been infected by the A/H1N1 flu. No industrial factories have been closed because of it, he added.

Mr Santi said he is more concerned over workers in travel and tourism business.
